Insomnia
in·som·ni·a: (n)
inability to fall asleep or to remain asleep long enough to feel rested.
Yes, that is definitely me. I have insomnia. Last night I could not go to sleep and yet I was so tired. I hate that feeling, the feeling of total exhaustion but the inability to fall into that blessed state of partial or even full unconsciousness. A state when voluntary functions are suspended and the body rests and restores itself. Ah. What good friends I should have liked to become with this state of being but alas, the sand man left me and dropped not one iota of sand onto my cursed self.
It was as though I had poured caffeine into my body and it couldn't shut down, my thoughts would not slow down and allow my brain to rest. And yet, somehow i woke up this morning, strange how that happens. So I guess I can't really claim that i have insomnia after all *sigh*
Today nothing too eventful has happened. I drove down to UP (university of the Philippines) for the first time by myself just about thirty minutes ago. heh, that was fun. I was a bit of a reckless driver though, and caused more than one neighboring car discomfort at my pitiful lack of judgment. But I believe that I am getting better, even though I’ve had my license for almost two years now. heh, but getting a license in the Philippines in no way guarantees that one can drive. I just heard last Sunday that the Philippines was ranked 2nd for the most corrupt country in Asia! 2nd! That’s insane. And that is why half the people getting licenses these days have no idea how to drive. You figure it out. But, all in all, the Philippines is a great place to live. Once you figure out the system everything runs smoothly enough. (Not that you should pay bribes, but only that you should expect them to be coming).
