Recent Pic of My Sister and My Nieces:

righ

(Debbie, Jess, Felicia)

I went back to my Armenian roots today and baked something that would only be found in an Armenian cookbook. It was called Banana-Apple Bread. At first it sounds normal but the ingredients were a bit odd. One of the strangest was the prune paste and the lemon zest. It was fun baking it and of course the whole house smelled yummy. It was a triumph...but perhaps only to those with acquired taste like we Armenians always posses. Anything with fruit, especially those darn good looking and deliciously tasting apricots can never go wrong with a true Armenian.

Oh and the U.S. Open starts today and I'm hoping Nadal will kick everybody's BUTT although he's never gotten further than the third round in this tourney...heh yeah, only time will tell how far he will get this time around...

My Life As This Semester Might Know It

Well so far this is how my days have been - and will continue to be if I can't attend Weber this semester:

1. My alarm goes off at 6 a.m.
2. I eat my breakfast and leave for the office around 6:40 a.m.
3. Get to the office around 7:00 a.m. and have an ideally one hour and fifteen minute "morning" meeting, but it usually goes for about three hours because of all the talking in between.
4. So around 9:30 to 10:00 I start my personal devotions
5. Take a break at 11:30 and eat my lunch
6. Continue on with my devotions until around 1:30 or so.
7. Then I'm usually exhausted from doing my devotions. not sure why but it is stressful sometimes and all i want to do is go home and relax...so i usually drive home and then either fall asleep or read until it's time for dinner.
8. After dinner I do whatever chore i'm assigned that night and then I go and read for an hour or two...my favorite time in the day.
9. Then I’m not sure what happens but somehow I never fall asleep until around 1:00 a.m. So around then I turn out the lights and fall asleep listening to Old Radio Shows...

Hum…lather, rinse, repeat, as needed. Heh, so I guess that’s going to be my schedule for the next couple of months. But I get my French horn back tomorrow from it’s tune up so that should be super fun cuz I’m also getting some new music specifically for French Horns and I’m not ashamed to say that I’m really excited about that. And I also get to play soccer twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays so that’s good as well. Wow, it’s so weird my life is a routine that I can write down in so many words. The only difference is God gives my life meaning. Gosh, how do people live without God in their lives?! Everything is so meaningless and pointless without Him!

Going to College this Semester

My dad is in the states right now raising support as we missionaries must and it's weird having him gone. Hopefully though his trip won't take three or four months...Argh, it's so annoying to have him gone for that long, it will be really hard once I’m married to not see my husband for that long while he's raising support. Hopefully that won't happen though...although I don’t really see how it's avoidable.

Well Weber State University starts up next week. I'm not sure I’ll have the money to attend though and that's not cool. Hopefully within the next couple of days, my dad will be able to get a big grant from some donor that is specifically for personal use so that we have enough money to send me to college this sem. It must be so hard for my dad though cuz he has three kids in college and three more going to a private high school all of which he has to pay...That's a lot of money if you think about it. Definitely not one of the advantages for large families.

But if we don't get the money in time I’m starting to think that It will be fun to have such a long break. I actually will be able to do stuff that I want to do. Too bad I can't do pottery until second sem, this would have been the perfect time to spend learning how to make more stuff on the wheel. Gosh I would give a lot just to have my own studio with a wheel and nicely wedged clay to throw on the wheel...plus a kiln...ok that's a lot of money right there. So I guess i’ll have to say goodbye to my dream of spending my leisurely hours on the wheel and become at least a proficient potter....Goodbye Dream....

August Birthdays

I have finally come to realize that there are a lot of birthdays this month. My mom. my brother, two of my sisters, and two of my aunts, not to mention around half of my class from faith can claim to be a possesor of a August birth. It's insane!!! But then again, the month of conception is December so that make sense cuz everyone is happy in december. heh a bit odd but at the same time interesting.

Roger Cup

OK, I guess I can officially be classified as a Nadal fan…atic. Only, after killing Federer in the French Open, and getting second at Wimbledon I hardly expected what recent events have made fact. Nadal LOST! Shamefully lost to Tomas BERDYCH (CZE) in the third round of the Roger's Cup held in Toronto, Canada. Argh...it was quite disappointing and yet at the same time after loosing the first set 1-6, my hopes weren't too high...But then he came back in the second set and dominated the court beating Berdych six games to three...my hopes went up...but they were immediately dashed when Berdych came out the third set wasting nadal six games to one. ahh...so sad...I guess I'll just have to cheer for Federer now. What a sense of loss I am now experiencing, there is nothing to look forward to now in the Roger Cup except looking at all the weird Canadian spectators.
